What a voice command does

Voice typing creates new text from speech. A voice command is different: it tells TypeRoam how to transform text that already exists. Typical jobs include correcting grammar, shortening a paragraph, changing tone, reorganizing a sentence, or producing a cleaner version of a rough draft.

Use a voice command

Open the message, email, note, or document you want to edit.
Place the cursor in the relevant text field. Select the text you want to change when the app supports selection.
Open the TypeRoam AI command control from the keyboard.
Tap the microphone and say one clear editing instruction.
Finish recording and wait for TypeRoam to process the command.
Review the result before sending or saving it.

Voice commands require an internet connection, Google sign-in, microphone permission, and active TypeRoam Pro access.

How to give better instructions

A good command names the action, the desired tone or format, and anything that must stay unchanged. For example, “Shorten this to two sentences, keep the date and price, and use a friendly tone” is more reliable than simply saying “Improve this.”

Use one main goal at a time. If a command asks for many unrelated changes, review each detail carefully or split it into two edits.

AI output can still be wrong or omit something important. Check names, numbers, dates, links, quotations, and factual claims before using the result.

Troubleshooting

The wrong text was changed

Undo the result, select a smaller and more precise passage, then repeat the command. Different Android apps expose text selection to keyboards in different ways.

The result changed the meaning

Undo it and add a constraint such as “preserve every fact and number” or “correct grammar only; do not rewrite.”

The command keeps loading

Check the connection and try again with a shorter selection. A VPN or unstable network can delay both speech recognition and the text-editing request.
